pockets and drapery

This fabric is a bit too heavy for this style, keeps dragging down and is really too warm, but I like the shape and the draping of it anyway. Even if it is a bit reminiscent of a repurposed parachute. I wanted the khaki version but it wasn’t in my size, so figured would give the blue a chance. Keep forgetting about blue as an option, somehow, when it comes to clothes that aren’t jeans.

on the street: the drawstring dress

IMG_4076-mod

I love this look. A dark yet vividly blue drawstring dress with the structure of buttons and a collar combined with the softness of a light and flexible fabric. A slouchy, unembellished tan leather bag. A watch the only accent (it is too hot for accents anyway). I like isolating accessories like this, such that they aren’t lost in a crowd. It also gives a clean, pared, sometimes even masculine effect that I like.

And then I saw these stunning flowers.

Anybody know what they are called?
