Hummus is not at all difficult to make, it turns out. It is, though, so dense and filling. I portioned out what I thought would make a suitable fraction of dinner and it turned out to be far, far, too much. I ate it all anyway, to my later dismay, with too many multi-grain pita crackers. Ah. I love crackers. Really basically all crackers.
on the menu: brie, havarti, mustard, figs, almonds…and sherry
Sometimes I eat like a small, ambitious bird.
Who loves cheese, and mustard. And zucchini relish (homemade by the mom).
I am always up for a miscellaneous platter like this. Some combination of cheese/nuts/fruit/protein. Maybe prunes or dates, olives, sardines, pears, basil leaves, chocolate…so versatile, and always good.
It makes me want something fortified…
Like sherry.
