on the menu: aloo ghobi + cilantro, naan, chocolate layer cake

More Indian. A little heavy on the garam masala but even this is no disaster. Good level of heat with some sanaam chilis.

I was going to have green tea mochi when I was offered cake. Not the most fitting progression  but I often eat strange combinations. I see the virtue of careful pairings but…as long as I like all of the elements…

I usually don’t eat dessert at all, am more inclined to drink it if anything. But once in a while I see the appeal.

on the menu: grilled ginger salmon with kale, fleur de sel

Fleur de sel is so pretty.

Ginger, garlic, herbs de provençe & tellicherry pepper on wild Alaskan sockeye salmon. Wonderfully rich, fatty texture on this fish, which I was careful not to overcook.

Lots of ginger.

After I took the photo I added even more parsley. I have a thing about piling on herb garnishes until ‘garnish’ isn’t quite the right category for them anymore. More like, ‘incorporated side dish’.
